Dorai River Rock Coaster Set

$29.00

Our chic coasters do more than eliminate watermarks - they dry instantly! Created with diatomaceous earth, Dorai’s River Rock Coasters are both sustainable and designed to instantly remove water.

Dorai Coasters

Each coaster is a different shape and pattern, emulating the unique qualities of stones. The Dorai River Rock Coaster Set includes four coasters that pair well with a beverage of your choice.

Cleaning Instructions: If your coaster gets stained it can be cleaned in two ways. For light stains or scuffs use a mild sanding tool or metal brush to gently rub off any marks. For more extreme stains, small amounts of bleach or hydrogen peroxide will do the trick.

Dimensions: 4” x 4” x 1/3"

Coaster bliss

Living with humidity, it is challenging to find coasters that effectively absorb the moisture that forms and flows from cold drinks. The Dorai coasters do their job in spades.

Phenomenal absorbent coaster, just needs ONE improvement for perfection

I already had Thirstystone coasters, which are going for about $22 now for a set of four coasters. They are made of natural sandstone. I love BOTH of these coasters. Both work well. The Thirstystone coasters do not work as well as the Dorai coasters, though they DO work well. If you have a tall glass of ice cold liquid and let it sit until it all melts, the Thirstystone coaster WILL have a puddle of water on the coaster, but it doesn't actually get onto the surface below (which is pretty much the most important part of using a coaster). The Dorai coasters work VERY well, but compared to the Thirstystone coasters it is harder to pick them up and move them. This is because the Dorai coasters are much flatter, and the Thirstystone coasters have a cork layer below that makes it easier to grip the coaster.

If the Dorai coasters had something below to provide this seamless grip, then they would be PERFECT. Honestly, if I hadn't had these Thirstystone coasters, then I might've thought the Dorai coasters were already the best they could be.

Lovely but sensitive

These are great looking and an awesome idea, but unfortunately on day 1 the coaster was stained from white wine. Not sure how that works but can't get the ring removed. So I believe they are best suited for just water and not any other drink liquids.

FAQs

  • How do I clean my Dorai items?

Unlike many bath mats or dish racks, the Dorai Diomat utilizes rapid drying that dissipates moisture and helps to prevent mold. Dorai's Diomat can hold up to 150% of its weight in water, but it needs adequate air flow to rapidly dry. Be sure your products are slightly elevated from the surface (by using the non-slip pad included in the Bath Stone), and let them fully dry out between uses. When overly saturated, prop them up against a wall and when they return to their original light color they are ready to go :)
Similar to light colored towels or sheets, darker liquids or self tanners can cause some staining if absorbed into the mat. Lighter liquids will not typically stain your mat. In the event that your mat gets stained, it can be cleaned in two ways. For light stains or scuffs, use the included sand paper to gently rub off any marks. For more extreme stains, small amounts of bleach or hydrogen peroxide will do the trick.

  • What if my item gets stained?

We elect not to add dyes or additional substances to the Diatomaceous Earth compound and instead embrace the natural color. Given the lighter tone of the material, there is a risk of staining with dirt or darker liquids. If you spill on it, first, try to dab up any excess liquid before it’s absorbed. For mild stains or scuffs, get your product damp and use sandpaper (150 grit or similar) to gently ‘wet sand’ off any marks. For more extreme stains, applying small amounts of diluted bleach or hydrogen peroxide should do the trick.

  • What makes Diatomaceous Earth antimicrobial?

Diatomaceous Earth is antimicrobial by its physical properties not through the use of any chemicals or toxins. In its raw state the material attracts and binds bacteria and parasites, causing them to dry out and die.

When compressed into boards it still rapidly evaporates to help prevent mold, but doesn't hold the same antimicrobial properties as the raw material.

  • Are your products non-toxic and has it been tested against Prop 65 guidelines?

Yes! Dorai products have passed Prop 65 testing and been screened for over 174 substances of very high concern (SVHC) with no detectable substances found. Our products use food grade Diatomaceous Earth, silicone, aluminum and other non-toxic, long-lasting materials.
