If you know us, you know we’re always the first ones to be excited about the change of seasons. That’s why we’ve loved continuing the tradition of interviewing Dorai co-founder, Kelsey, about her top picks each season. We truly enjoy connecting with Dorai customers and followers, and have a hunch you'll enjoy many of the same monthly favorites. We love bringing you along in our journey of all things health, wellness, and design. Here is what Kelsey had to say about her 5 Favorite Things for Summer:
Summer is all about low maintenance and the same is true for hair. I discovered this leave-in conditioner during our last vacation and it was a lifesaver when going from pool and water activities to dinner. It doesn’t weigh hair down and smells really nice. As someone with naturally curly hair, this is a summer must.
While on the topic of hair, I was pleased to discover a new alternative to tame those pesky flyaways. As a longtime fan of lash and brow mascara, it’s about time we used the wand technology for our hair. I’ve found this is helpful after I curl my hair as a few strands near my part tend to go rogue, and when wearing it in a ponytail for a more chic finish.
My favorite way to enjoy chia seed pudding is when it’s served inside papaya at a tropical destination, but unfortunately, it’s more often enjoyed in my kitchen sans exotic fruit. Chia is packed with Omega-3 and fiber and can be mixed into a delicious pudding making it the perfect afternoon snack in the summer. Here’s my recent go-to recipe, and be sure to use coconut milk from the can to achieve the thicker pudding texture.
Since I usually lather on one of my favorite sunscreens in the summer, it can be a struggle to find a quality self-tanner that checks all a few boxes. Isle of Paradise is nice because it’s versatile in that a little or a lot can be added to your favorite face or body lotion. Being sensitive to smells, these drops still have a hint of the underlying self-tanner scent so I tend to apply it at night and shower in the morning.
I was very pleasantly surprised to see a 3 pack of these delicious treats at Costco! If you haven’t had mochi before, you’re in for a pleasant surprise with these creamy ice cream-filled bites. They are the perfect summer snack or dessert for a hot day when you’re looking for something refreshing and sweet. My favorite flavors are mango and guava, but you can’t go wrong with any Bubbies this time of year!
